However, to reap these benefits meant hourly rounds by the staff. The study by Snyder et.al. (2007) communicate pain, position, and personal needs done by hourly rounding. They found a decrease in call lights and falls and an increase in patient satisfaction. waterfall were decreased significantly and overall patient satisfaction went from the 3rd quartile to the 1st. This was further supported by a study done by Orr, Tranum, and Kupperschmidt, (2007) showing the like basic results. They showed decreased falls and much improved results in pain control. In 2007 a study was reported in Clinical Nurse medical specialist again, supporting the same results. Johnson, and Topham (2007) reported a decrease in patient fa lls by 46% as they found that most patient falls were attributed to patients getting up to go to the bathroom. Hourly rounding improved this kind of fall drastically. All of these results indicate a quality, safety and cost effective flair to improve patient outcomes. Initiating this change may be difficult as it not only is a change but disrupts nursing routine and asks them to go after through on their day completely different than they are employ to doing. Anytime a process comes with that much change is not only difficult to switch the change but difficult to maintain the change.Middle Range TheoryMiddle range theories are described as theories that are best used by emerging disciplines (McEwen &Wills, 2007). The suggestion is made because they are theories that are more readily operationalized than they others. They work well in nursing for that very reason. Practice ofttimes is affected by theory but on the average nursing does not recognize it. With the advent of advanced education for nursing, some of that has changed. However, operationalizing a theory is very important(MeEwen, et.al., 2007). McEwen (2007) tells the reader that there are several standard characteristics of a middle range theory. The principle ideas of the theory are simple, straightforward, and general. They consider a limit number of variables or concepts and they usually have a particular focus. They, like the studies observed have the ability to be empirically tested. Practice for nursing nowadays must be studied and tested as evidence based practice is more important than ever before. The nursing problem of rounding, chosen for this newspaper publisher can be analyzed using a middle range theory. The middle range theories derived from research and practice are the set of theories most apt(predicate) to work well with this process. The Newman Systems prototype of prevention as intervention seems to be the be theory to apply in this case (McEwen, 2007, pg231). Concepts in Neuman s theory are important here. purlieu is composed of both internal and external forces surrounding

Addition exclusivelyy, Old Man Coyote is not the all hunch overing creator which is commonly presented in western mythos since he does not know if there is anything in the world another(prenominal) than water, he does not even know that ducks can stay underwater for a long period of time. The image of the creator matches the idea of a very powerful being, but the being is not all knowing. Moreover, Old Man Coyote is not very well acquainted with many different ideas of society and social existence which were taught to him by other creatures. For instance, he does not understand war or the need for w as as a social conflict that allows certain problems to be settled once and for all or as a means to improve a persons social standing. Cirape is the character which comes across as the individual which has the wisdom of a god but does not have the strength to put his thoughts into action. Finally, the relationship which the creator animal has with other animals brings about an image of a united family since the characters mouth each other as younger and elder brothers. The image of family is essential to the progress of the storyline since even characters that are not cooperative and act in hostility are not killed off or banished. The case of the Bear is a predominant one since his rebellion does not take him to hell rather he is supposed to hibernate for the winter months while the other animals can stay awake. In conclusion, the creation story of the native American mythology is an interesting escape since it does give significant insights into native American culture as well as the relationships that a society should have as a result of chase that particular culture. Philosophy of education Essay Example for Free

Philosophy of education EssayPhilosophy is a set of beliefs or ideas one has towards their discipline or line of work. Don Kauchak and Paul Eggen, authors of the textbook Introduction to Teaching Becoming a Professional, define philosophy as The sketch of theories of knowledge, truth, existence, and morality (Kauchak Eggen, 2011) . The philosophy of education is a very important aspect of teaching. It is meant to guide teachers in the classroom and offer insight to the thinking of past experts (Kauchak Eggen, 2011) . It a great deal will answer the main questions any new and even seasoned teachers have when preparing to teach in the classroom. There are various degrees of philosophy, for example thither is the philosophy of life, the philosophy of religion, and the philosophy of education. However, there are four philosophies of education they include Perennialism, Essentialism, Progressivism, and Social Reconstructionism. after(prenominal) calculating my scores on the phi losophical discernment in the Kauchak and Eggen textbook, I found that my personal philosophy of education is an equal combination of Perennialism and Social Reconstructionism. According to Kauchak and Eggen, Perennialism consists of the teaching of classic knowledge (Kauchak Eggen, 2011) .This includes literacy, mathematics, and science. Another mode of looking at this is teaching students subjects that they will use in the future, even if it does not seem relevant now. The definition of perennial is long-term and that is exactly how a teacher with a Perennialism philosophy teaches. Social Reconstructionism, according to Kauchak and Eggen is An educational philosophy suggesting that schools, teachers, and students should lead in alleviating social inequities in our indian lodge (Kauchak Eggen, 2011) .In other words, a teacher with this philosophy teaches their students about social problems, improving society and teaching their students about personal responsibilities. Pere nnialism and Social Reconstructionism are each on opposite ends of the spectrum. Social Reconstructionism focuses more on the society in which the student lives, while Perennialism focuses more on the intellect of the student. Having these two as my personal philosophies is a bit difficult. While I do believe teaching tolerance and understanding is important, I also know that learning mathematics, science and literacy is equally important. After reading the scenario on page 219 of the Kauchak and Eggen textbook, I would respond to the students by first trying to motivate them. Offering incentives is a great way to get students direction they are more eager to pay attention if they are pursuing it to get something out of it. You back tooth use anything as a motivator my pet was always free dessert at lunchYou can also give extra credit points on the next quiz or for younger students you could offer an incentive such as line leader or bathroom monitor for the day. The younger studen ts love when they think they are in bespeak of something, it can also help their self-esteem knowing they are doing something important. I do believe this is more of an example of Perennialism, however, depending on the specific motivator and the resolution it gets it could be Social Reconstructionism as well. The second response I would try is starting a discussion.I would try getting the students attention by put them in discussion groups or having a discussion as a whole class. This would definitely be an example of Social Reconstructionism. This encourages the students to work together and to pick out up with a solution together. It gives them a chance to ask each other questions before asking the teacher. It also compels them to stay focused on the result and eliminates the my hand wasnt raised excuse. My third response, though I would make it my last resort, would be to write a summary on what was taught during the instruction.By doing this, it makes the students fate an d need to listen in order to do their assignment correctly. This also offers a chance to get some feedback from the teacher and allows you to reflect on what you larn and what you need to work on. This is an example of Perennialism, as it deals with the thought process and encouraging literacy. While Perennialism and Social Reconstructionism are complete opposites, they also share some characteristics, qualification it easier to teach using both philosophies. Many common knowledge subjects can be transitioned to include activities that work well to alleviate social problems. In math, you can have the students work in groups. This promotes team work and logic. In literacy, you may give reading assignments dealing with a specific problem in society (e. g. poverty, bullying, etc) and have the students write summaries on what they read. This can promote logical thinking as well as establishing knowledge of the society issue in the reading.

Dead Poet Society Essay Example for Free

doomed Poet Society EssayIs living a crime? Is choice unacceptable? Is felo-de-se typical? Reading this is so simple but going through it is much harder than we think. Forgetting your best friend who suicided, having your close relative killed and been alone was Charlies sprightliness. The sink in of being a wallflower directed by Stephen Chbosky is an astonishing film which involves youngster entering the world of adulthood. Beginning a new year of mettlesome school here Charlie finally befriends Sam and Patrick and through this we explore the themes of self-fulfillment and loneliness. Self-realisation and loneliness is conveyed in both films Directed by Peter Weir Dead Poet society is a story of a teacher called Mr Keating who makes his students releases the ability they have in them. The film Perk of being a wallflower definitely reinforces the themes in Dead poet Society. Loneliness is deeply attached and expressed early in Charlies life. It is shown by him not participat ing in any partitioning activities. The camera angel that supports this statement is an eye-level shot where Charlie is sitting in class backed down on his chair. This symbolises that he is too afraid to speak forbidden. The consistency language is dull with a lower self-esteem. Similarly, in Dead Poet Society Todd a shy and insecure guy who is too afraid to come out of his shell. The camera shot used is close-up where Todds facial expression is conveyed by tension and fear. So, therefore both films definitely share a similar theme. Things change. And friends leave. sustenance doesnt stop for anybody. Being intensely devoted to his past Charlie stopped realising who he really is. Every step he took he remembered the past, and that past has stopped his life in one motion stress and alone.Fortunately, with help from his friend Sam he realises that life is full of happiness and freedom. The Camera Angle used is mass medium shot where Charlie is standing on the truck bed, with his hands open, he learns that he can go on with life without being scared, because he is more than a wallflower. Furthermore, Self-realisation in Dead Poet Society is shown by Todd at the end of the film where he is confident and fearless. He seizes the twenty-four hours by standing on his desk as a symbol of his respect to Mr Keating. The camera Angle used is low angle shot of Todd which makes him look powerful and full of dignity.Confident, happiness and self-realisation taught both Todd and Charlie that life keeps going so. So, therefore, again the perk of being a wallflower has expressed similar themes as Dead poet society. To conclude, both films had similarities and differences but general the same themes Themes of self-realisation and loneliness. The perk of being a wallflower and Dead poet society show us lives of teenagers that are sometimes unseen and the way they deluge each obstacle. So, what would you do if you were in this situation? Because in life people like Mr Keat ing or Sam arent always there. So my friends seize the day your own way.

And they used different terms to hide the repairful(a) nature of their crimes. Moble killing units also called Einsatzqruppen operated mass murder to European words,Roma and Soviet state and communist callerofficials through mass shootings. Jewish movie director Steven Speilberg establish lot for the museum. It is located in the Raoul Wallenberg Place, after the Swedish diplomat who saved 100,000 Jews in Hungary during World War II. The land which the museum was build was owned by the unite States Department of Agriculture and which the two of the three annex buildings of this prosperity was demolished in order to build a museum whose design was patterned or much about holocaust. Progressively to a greater extent, discriminatory measures in Nazi Germany led many Jews and others targeted by the Nazis to try to leave their country.Between the 1933, Nazi party lead and 1939, more than 300,000 Jews migrated from Austria and Germany. However, for many, finding a safe haven proved difficult. Western nations feared an influx of refugees, especially in the wake of the Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass, November 9-10, 1938) pogroms. Although 85,000 Jewish refugees reached the United States between demonstrate 1938 and September 1939, due to American immigration Evian Conference restrictions on the number of immigrants this level of immigration was far below the number seeking refuge. At the 32-country convened in 1938 to consider the plight of refugees, no country except the Dominican Republic was prepared to increase immigration quotas. EXPERIENCE IN THE MUSEUM As I went in on the museum ,I felt so mad because I cant believe that in the old generation, they can kill as many people as they want I felt kind-heartedness to the Jews. I cant understand why they have to kill the people, because for meas a Christian believes that God our creator is the only one who have the right to ge t back our lives. I was also impressed because as the years passed by ,many historical buildings can be take care and supported by the government and the citizens of our community. And as I went out of that museum, theres a hope that as a new generation comes, life would be meaningful and all of the people would find the life of each other . It will serve a big lesson to each and everyone who think negative to others. It shows how it was happened and the unjusticed action of Nazi for the Jews.Because of this,it helps individuals realized that there is no good effect in having a negative perception to other people it may caused war and violations . Always think positive ,communicate well to others and keep down any inferiorities. In preventing Holocaust museum in the present time gives a big contribution specially in the teen agers mind, they can avoid military force and know how to show kindness to other people. It can build a harmonious kin to each other. And they can act as good benevolent beings ,with fear to GOD and concern to the feelings of others. This historical museum is a very good symbol toend wars and to avoid violence. It is very impressive that American government support the funding for the museum in order to preserve ths documentary and historical event that is very useful in showing to people the importance of human relationship and useful value of this Holocaust museum. It is a very good place to visit by different schools for their educatinal activities and their outreach programs.BIBLIOGRAPHYShandler Jeffrey,1999 While America Watches Televising the Holocaust,New York Saidel,Rochelle G. ,1996 Never Too slow to Remember The Politics behind New York Citys Holocaust Museum, New York

Impact of Medication Therapy on Diabetes

Impact of Medication Therapy on DiabetesFor Doctors and PatientsStudies show that intensive medication therapy to control glucose levels may non be the most effective treatment approach for type 2 diabetes. Insulin therapy results in burthen gain, which can be excessive, worsening cardiovascular risk profile.Reversing stock ticker DiseaseExcess caloric consumption causes the buildup of cholesterol and plaque inside of the blood vessels. intemperate your cholesterol with cholesterol-lowering drugs does not decrease the risk of fatal strokes. Lowering cholesterol with nutritional excellence, however, can offer more protection and disease reversal than drug therapy can, without the risk or expense of prescription medication. The goal is a low body-fat percentage, which is best achieved by prescribed regular exercise and nutritional excellence. Nutritional interventions argon effective forLowering cholesterol and lipid risk markersLosing weight and glucose intolerance, reversing the d iabetic processReducing inflammatory and clot-promoting tendenciesReducing the tendency toward arrhythmia, sudden cardiac death, summation attack, and strokeManaging Insulin Use for Type 1 DiabetesEarly attack heart disease in people with type 1 diabetes is linked to insulin resistance. That means excessive amounts of insulin is dangerous for type 1 diabetics because it can cause heart disease. But when type 1 diabetics follow the nutritarian diet approach, they require substantially less insulin, reducing the risk of heart disease and hypoglycemia.Diabetes During PregnancyGestational diabetes is a pregnancy-related condition affecting over 5 percent of pregnancies in which women develop high blood glucose in the diabetic range. Gestational diabetes develops when the pancreas cant produce comfortable insulin to keep up with the bodys higher demand during pregnancy. Overweight women are more pr iodin to gestational diabetes.Gestational diabetes poses an increased risk to both moth er and child. altitude glucose level increases the size of the baby resulting in deli precise complications. It also increases the risk of the baby having underdeveloped lungs and respiratory distress after birth.Gestational diabetes is characterized by very strong insulin resistance, so if insulin is prescribed to treat the condition, the dosage must be high. High dosage of insulin is dangerous because it can induce neonatal hypoglycemia and preterm delivery. So an aggressive antidiabetic protocol is needed to reverse gestational diabetes quickly without the use of risky drugs.A Sample Phase One (Aggressive) Diabetic blast Diet for Newly Diagnosed Gestational DiabetesThis is also a version of the phase one diet plan to follow if you are on diabetic medications, save still have a fasting glucose level above 150. Your glucose level will drop quickly under this strict diet. Once your numbers are more favorable, and you are reducing medication, then you can move on to phase two of t he program. Make sure you reduce or eliminate mediations to maintain hypoglycemia.Follow this plan until your blood sugar is favorable.BreakfastBecause insulin resistance is the highest in the morning, eat low-glycemic plant foods for breakfast. Avoid grains, beans or fruits, except some berries. Use one of the below suggestion per meal.A green salad with a creamy hemp seed herbal dressing. one-half cup of berries.A roasted eggplant casserole. Half cup of berries.LunchChoose two of the below suggestions per mealA vegetable-bean soup made with low-salt tomato and celery juice base. A bowl of snap lettuce and raw spinach.Roasted tufu slices wrapped in raw collard green leaves.Zucchini-cauliflower casserole.Spicy beans or lentils (1 cup) served hot over a bed of shredded raw vegetables. dinnerInclude all three below per mealSteamed green vegetables, crushed raw walnuts, and toasted almond slivers.Raw vegetable served with a hoummos or salsa dip.One fresh fruit, or two kiwis or some berries for dessert.

Direct-sequence spread spectrum

Direct- time dust spectrumDirect- taking over dish out spectrumDirect-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) is a modulation technique utilize in telecommunications. In this modulation technique, as with other spread spectrum technologies, more band comprehensiveness is occupied by the transmitted mansion than the info signal that is being modulated. In Spread spectrum modulation technique the carrier signals occur over the full bandwidth (spectrum) of a devices transmitting frequency and that is where the name Spread Features of Direct-sequence spread spectrum In DSSS a sine wave is pseudo randomly phase-modulated with a continuous string of pseudo noise (PN) code symbols called chips. Each of these chips has a much shorter duration than an information number. In effect information signal is modulated by chips sequence which is much faster. Therefore, the chip rate is much higher than information signal bit rate. In DSSS the chip sequences produced by the transmitter to modulate the signal is known at receiver polish off and receiver uses the same chip sequences to demodulate. As same sequence chips are used at transmitter and receiver, both have to be in sync with respect to chip sequence. Transmission method of Direct-sequence spread spectrumIn Direct-sequence spread-spectrum transmissions the data being transmitted is multiplied by a noise signal. The noise signal used is a pseudorandom sequence of 1 and 1 values. Also the frequency of noise signal is much higher than that of the information signal. In effect we can say that the energy of original data is spread to a much higher bandwidth than the bandwidth of information signal. We can say that the resulting signal will look like white noise, like an audio recording of static. notwithstanding this noise signal will be used to reconstruct the original data at the receiver end where it will be multiplied with pseudorandom sequence of 1 and 1 values which is exactly the same sequence which was used to modula te the data signal. As 1 1 = 1, and 1 1 = 1 so multiplying two times the data signal with pseudo random sequence will restore the original signal. The process of multiplying the signal at receiving end with same chip sequence used at transmitter end is known as de- dispersal. In De-spreading a mathematical correlation of the transmitted PN sequence with the PN sequence at receiver is constituted. As it would have been clear by now that to reconstruct data at receiver end, transmit and receive sequences moldiness be synchronized. It is done via some time search process. This requirement of synchronization of transmitter and receiver can be dish outed as drawback. exactly this drawback gives a prodigious benefit also. If we synchronize sequences of various transmitters, the relative synchronization which we will do for receiver can be used to determine relative timing. This relative timing can be used to determine receivers position if transmitters position is known. This is used in m whatever satellite navigation systems. Process gain is effect of enhancing signal to noise ratio on the channel. The process gain can be increased by using a longer PN sequence and more chips per bit. But there is a constraint here that physical devices which are used to generate the PN sequence have practical limits on attainable processing gain.If a transmitter transmits a signal with a PN sequence the de-spreading process give a process gain if we demodulate it with same PN sequence. It does not provide any process gain for the signals transmitted by other transmitters on the same channel but with a different PN sequence or no sequence. This is the solid ground of for the code division multiple access (CDMA) property of Direct-sequence spread spectrum. This property allows multiple transmitters to share the same channel. But this is limited by cross-correlation properties of PN sequences. We can consider the transmitted signal will be roughly a bell shaped enveloped center ed on the carrier frequency (same as in AM transmission) but the noise which we add causes the distribution to be wider. As this description suggests, a plot of the transmitted waveform has a roughly bell-shaped envelope centered on the carrier frequency, just like a normal AM transmission, except that the added noise causes the distribution to be much wider than that of an AM transmission. If we equalize frequency-hopping spread spectrum with Direct-sequence spread spectrum then we will find that frequency-hopping spread spectrum pseudo-randomly re-tunes the carrier, instead of adding pseudo-random noise to the data. This retuning of carrier results in a uniform frequency distribution whose width will be determined by the output range of the pseudo-random number generator.Benefits of Direct-sequence spread spectrum Jamming resistance for intended or unintended jamming. A angiotensin-converting enzyme channel is shared among multiple users. Interception is hampered due to reduced si gnal/background-noise level. Relative timing between transmitter and receiver is determined.Uses of Direct-sequence spread spectrum Used by European Galileo satellite navigation systems and The United States GPS systems DS-CDMA (Direct-Sequence Code Division Multiple Access) is a multiple access scheme based on Direct-sequence spread spectrum, by spreading the signals from/to different users with different codes. It is the most widely used type of CDMA. Used in Cordless phones operating in the 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands Used in IEEE 802.11b 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and its predecessor 802.11-1999. (Their successor 802.11g uses OFDM instead) Used in Automatic meter reading Used in IEEE 802.15.4 (PHY and MAC layer for ZigBee)
